Yes, your grandfather clock kit will be made of real wood. Our cherry
finished grandfather clocks are made of Linden wood and our oak finished grandfather clock is made of Catalpa
wood.
What kind of movements do your grandfather clocks have in
them?
Your grandfather clock kit will have a dependable 31-day key wind movement.
You wind your grandfather clock once per month. Your antique grandfather clock will be totally mechanical and are NOT battery
operated. The movement is driven by the springs you wind instead of the
weights. The chimes are created by two hammers hitting two chime pin rods. It
is hard to beat these dependable movements.
Do your grandfather clock kits have a warranty?
You bet they do. Your discount grandfather clock has a one year
warranty. If you have a problem with your grandfather clock, just contact
us and if it is defective, we will repair or replace it.
How long will it take for me to receive my grandfather
clock kit?
We will ship your discount grandfather clock within 2-3 business days. Then, depending on where you live, it will
take 1 to 5 business days for delivery by UPS Ground. We strive to hurry
things along and get your order filled.
Is there any assembly once I receive my grandfather clock kit?
Yes, but it won't take long and is truly simple. The only
tool needed is a phillips screwdriver to insert 8 machine screws. It will not
take more than 30-45 minutes from start to finish. There are excellent
instructions enclosed, however, if you have any problems or questions, contact
us by phone (812-459-7082) or e-mail thru the form on 'Contact Us' page and we'll get back to you within 24 hours. There is nothing technical about the
assembly and set up of your antique grandfather clock. All technical parts pertaining to the clock head and
clock movement are pre-assembled and require no further attention.
What if my grandfather clock kit arrives with some shipping
damage?
In the unfortuate event that you receive your discount grandfather
clock and it has been damaged in transit, you should contact us as soon as
possible and we will ask you some questions to find out what part was damaged.
We will either send you out a replacement part the next business day or, if it
not repairable, we will have your grandfather clock picked up and send you a replacement.
Because our grandfather clock kits are packed well, only 2% of our grandfather clock kits arrive
with shipping damage. This means that 98 grandfather clocks out of 100 are in perfect order.
What if my grandfather clock does not strike the correct
hour?
Since your grandfather clock is new, allow it to operate for a few hours
before making any adjustments. If the strike is off, grasp the HOUR HAND ONLY
(short hand) and rotate it forward or backward to line up with the correct
hour on the dial indicated by the number of times the hour strikes. Rotating
this hand independently will not harm the movement. Then adjust the hands to
the correct time by rotating the minute hand (long hand) clockwise being sure
to stop at each hour and half hour to allow it to go through its chiming
process.
